Powerful foretelling Lyrics from 1989

I was a pretty big fan of The Outfield. Generally, I liked many of the less popular bands, and The Outfield is one that was highly underated. Watching this video today and listening to the lyrics, a couple verses caught my attention. What I heard was that, although many sacrificed their lives for our Freedom, it was free for our modern generation. And our ignorance of the past is causing us to now pay a price. We now struggle between our temptations for modern convience, and our instincts to keep us alive. Very thought provoking. Enjoy this tune from The Outfield called Voices of Babylon from1989, and let me know what you think.

The Outfield - Voices Of Babylon

Lyrics

Hit the message I can hear you calling
No one's going anywhere tonight
We conceived a modern generation
It was free but now we pay the price

We're the victims of our own creation
Chasing rainbows that are painted black or white
Watch the struggle of our temptation
Instincts barely keeping us alive

(chorus)
Back to the rhythm that we all came from
Voices of Babylon streets of London
Back to the people that we know so well
A space in time removed too soon to tell

Just a product of imagination
Patiently we wait for our turn to come
A small collection of the population
By the time our numbers up we could be gone

(chorus)
Back to the rhythm that we all came from
Voices of Babylon streets of London - town
